DESCRIPTION/
This is an editorial-style mock journal cover based on a DNA repair protein – MRE11, shown in its ribbon form bound to DNA. MRE11 is a protein involved in the repair of double-stranded DNA breaks. It is responsible for pausing DNA replication until the break is repaired; a mechanism used by the cell to prevent mutation.
This editorial-style journal cover was created to explore 3D modelling, lighting, and rendering techniques in Cinema 4D. At the same time this project is an exploration of programs for molecular visualization such as the Protein Data Bank (PDB) and ePMV (a tool for integrating accurate protein models into Cinema4D).
