Mulitple Sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common types of autoimmune diseases in North America.
This illustration depicts the key cellular and molecular players and their roles in different stages of RRMS.
I designed this illustration to visually describe three exam questions targeted towards medical and advanced undergraduate students:
    1. How does the myelin sheath structure differ in various stages of RRMS? How is nerve signal transmission at these various stages?
    2. What happens to the BBB during RRMS? How is it different from healthy individuals?
    3. Which key molecules are involved in the various stages of disease?
HIGHLIGHT/
This illustration received an AWARD OF EXCELLENCE in the Student Instructional Color category at the 67th Annual Meeting of the Association of Medical Illustrators.
